Suppose a boat that has a rectangular, flat bottom that is 10 ft wide is traveling in the center of a ship channel whose cross-section is in the shape of a cosine function (see figure).  If the channel is 20 ft deep at its deepest point and is 60 ft wide, how far below the surface of the water can the bottom of the boat be and still safely pass through the channel?
